INTRODUCTION
My name is Peter Blackwood,
and I am a nature and landscape photographer of the NY Finger Lakes and
I have recently had my
website and images favorably reviewed in the national photography magazine SHUTTERBUG, including the comments “he’s not afraid to work hard for his shots.
The same can be said for his image of a rainbow over the canyon at dusk that,
like the rest of Blackwood’s photographs, features deeply saturated colors
(although there are a few monochrome shots), strong composition, and care and
passion for his craft” . To read the full review click HERE
ON DISPLAY
Images are always viewable and available to
order by contacting the artist email Peter
I presently have framed and
‘matted but unframed’ pictures in two local galleries:
1. Olde Country
Picture Framers at 106 S. Main St in
Canandaigua, NY open Mon-Sat featuring
Canandaigua area artists
2. Artizanns at 118 N. Main St in Naples NY open 7 days a week featuring over 200

The fifth annual solo show of my photography
at the Wood Library in Canandaigua was on display from May 5th thru
June 12th . All the photographs in this show were created since my last Wood
Library exhibit in May 2009. They are available for purchase by contacting me.
Photographs from each of these yearly shows can be viewed here on this
website. There are also 3 framed images hanging on the main floor of the
library which have been donated, which are rotated periodically and
seasonally.
You can find 2 framed and matted photographs
of Canandaigua scenes hanging permanently in the Canandaigua City Hall, and one
image hanging in the lobby of the Canandaigua branch of the Hochstein School of
Music and Dance.
I have maintained 20+ framed images always on display at All
Things Art in downtown Canandaigua. Unfortunately that venue will be closing as
of June 30th 2010 .
PROCESS
Images have been created
using Canon digital Cameras and lenses. Prints are made on Ilford paper with
archival Epson pigment ink on a large format Epson printer. Some processing is
done via computer, however picture elements are not added to enhance the images
beyond their natural composition. I view computer image processing to be nearly
identical to my many years of darkroom processing.
Images are only sold matted
and framed and are priced $80 and higher, depending on size, frame etc. The
most common size images are 11X14 inches in 16X20 framing and 13X19 inches in
18X24 frame.
All matting is double and I
do my own mat cutting and framing.
The pictures are best viewed
in person rather than online, and the 'inventory' changes over time. Please
